Terms of Service
Last Updated: October 26, 2023
Please read these terms carefully before engaging with Clyde Edward Obrien for any furniture restoration or upcycling services. Your agreement to proceed with our services constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Ensuring Transparency and Mutual Respect
At Clyde Edward Obrien, we believe in clear communication and transparent processes. These terms and conditions are designed to protect both our valued clients and our artisanal craftsmanship, ensuring a smooth and successful project from start to finish.
1. Service Quotes and Agreements
All quotes provided by Clyde Edward Obrien are based on the initial assessment of the furniture, client specifications, and materials required. Quotes are generally valid for 30 days from the date of issue. A formal agreement, which may include a detailed work order and project scope, will be provided for your review and acceptance before any work commences. Any significant changes requested by the client after agreement may result in adjustments to the quote and project timeline.
2. Payment Terms
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total quoted price is required to secure your project slot and allow for the procurement of necessary materials. The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion of the service and prior to the delivery or collection of the restored or upcycled furniture piece. We accept cash, major credit cards, and bank transfers. Delayed final payments may incur storage fees if furniture is not collected within 7 days of project completion notification.
3. Project Timeline & Delays
Estimated project timelines will be communicated with your quote. These timelines are estimates and depend on the complexity of the work, material availability, and unforeseen circumstances inherent in restoration, such as the discovery of hidden damage or the need for specialized parts. We commit to transparent communication regarding any potential delays and will keep you informed throughout the process.
4. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information regarding the furniture piece's history, desired aesthetic, and any specific restoration requirements. Prompt feedback and approval on design samples, color choices, or material selections are crucial to avoid project delays. Ensure the furniture is reasonably clean and accessible upon pickup/drop-off.
5. Liability & Warranty
Clyde Edward Obrien takes utmost care in handling and restoring your furniture. We offer a 90-day warranty on our workmanship from the date of completion, covering defects in our labor. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage due to improper use or care, or inherent flaws in the original furniture material (especially vintage or antique pieces). Due to the nature of working with aged and sometimes fragile items, we cannot be held liable for pre-existing structural weaknesses, hidden damage, or material breakdown that becomes apparent during the restoration process, though weいたします our best to identify such issues beforehand.
6. Cancellation & Refunds
If a client wishes to cancel a project, the 50% deposit is non-refundable, as it covers initial design work, consultation time, and material procurement. For cancellations made after work has significantly progressed, payment for services rendered up to the point of cancellation will also be required.
